Gender Equal World

Women Deliver

Custom Squarespace Website in 3 languages, Animated Infographics, Social media, Campaign Art Direction and Design

This is a multi-language one page website that takes a narrative approach and describes where progress in gender equality has been made, where new challenges have arisen (such as the COVID-19 pandemic), and where action is still urgently needed. It also outlines seven action-oriented recommendations for governments and the private sector to take up, in support of the Generation Equality Forum convened by UN Women, the Government of France, and the Government of Mexico.

Originally this project was supposed to be a regular 5x7" infographic card, translated into 3 languages (English, French, and Spanish), but due to the COVID-19 pandemic cancelling all in person events, turning this into a website strategically made sense. Constrained to the original timeline, we had a month to design the layout using Sketch and InVision, translate the copy in three languages, create all the animated assets in three languages, and lastly develop the entire layout using Squarespace. Squarespace allowed us to be able to stick to the original timeline as well as have design editing capabilities without the need for the developer in the long run. For the design, we used color blockings, parallax, and as many as possible animated data graphics to give the website a fresh and dynamic look.

Animated gifs

To keep with our 5x7" infographic card look and feel, we included as many data graphics as possible. Here instead of keeping them static, we animated each of them in all three languages. This allowed us to create a section with shareable graphics directly from the site with prewritten tweets.
